Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper and Vermilion resident Andrew Geer has been selected 2017 Trooper of the Year at the Sandusky Post.
The selection of Trooper Geer, 35, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2017 at the Sandusky Post. Fellow officers at the Sandusky Post chose Trooper Geer based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.
Trooper Geer is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.
Trooper Geer joined the Highway Patrol in 2012 and was selected as the Sandusky Post Trooper of the Year in 2016. Originally from Milford Center, Ohio, and a graduate of Fairbanks High School. Trooper Geer attended the Ohio State University and Columbus State.
